Chris Manno
Cockpit, cartoons, commencement: my world.
Chris Manno is the author of the award-winning novel East Jesus, plus the action-adventure novel Voodoo Rush, plus the historical fiction Sanctuary Moon.
He earned his doctorate in English at Texas Christian University
and teaches writing at Texas Wesleyan University.
He graduated from the Virginia Military Institute with a bachelor's degree in English, then was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force. He earned his pilot wings at Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, then was stationed in the Pacific in Okinawa and Hawaii for six years. After leaving the Air Force, he began a career at American Airlines where he is a Boeing 737 captain flying all over North America, Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico.
